About this deal

Apart from some out dated ideas about culling pups that aren’t up to breed standard this book is very informative on all aspects of breeding your dog. Whether or not you intend to breed, the more that you understand about how bitches function, think and learn, the more pleasure she is likely to give you and the happier and healthier she will be.

I’d argue that if you scare the living daylights out of a person, they’ll probably do as you say, but they’ll despise you for it. It has perfect descriptions for the complex narrative that is the life of a bitch, coupled with images that reflect me - chubby, strong, oft-hairy, always beautiful. But with positive reinforcement (not mentioned once in this guide), you can create a happy relationship with a well-mannered dog who’s delighted to be with you. Little bit of backstory for you, it was based on observations of wolves held in captivity in the 1940s and 50s.Used books have different signs of use and might not include supplemental materials such as CDs, Dvds, Access Codes, charts or any other extra material. Fortunately the book was not damaged but in my opinion the envelope used wasn't fit for purpose and appeared to be the cheapest one they could get away with using. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average.

In this day and age of conflicting and unproven information online I love having this on the bookshelf where it talks with authority on all manner of topics. First published in 1997, Book of the Bitch is now available in a new edition, providing thorough, in-depth coverage of every aspect of caring for and understanding the canine female. My bitch did everything according to the book and so all my whelping kit, spare bottles and other paraphernalia are all lying unopened in a box apart from the stethoscope which I used to try and listen to the puppies heart beats when they were still in her. Certain situation ,which I never knew of, are explained providing info on what needs to be done if ever the situation occured. It offers a complete and comprehensive guide to both the experienced breeder and the novice bitch owner, with information on how bitches think, function and learn, the procedure for whelping and puppy rearing and advice on how to recognise the signs of sickness and those diseases to which bitches are prone and what action to take. The book gives thorough, in-depth coverage of every aspect of caring for and understanding the canine female.
